Bilten, September 6, 2022
Swiss chocolatier Läderach became the target of a cyber attack on September 5. Immediately after the attack was detected, the emergency board, which was established for such cases, was commissioned to verify the incident as well as to decide on further measures to contain the problem. The relevant authorities were informed immediately.
As of today, it can be said that production, logistics and administration in particular are currently affected. On the other hand, all branches in Switzerland and abroad have been able to open regularly, and local sales have not been affected. Online orders via the webshop are still possible, but there may be delays in delivery. The full extent of the impact is subject to further investigation.
As a precautionary measure, the use of internal work tools and communication channels has been reduced to a necessary minimum. The Emergency Board, together with external IT and forensic experts, is working at full speed to further analyze and resolve the issues.
Läderach – chocolatier suisse
Freshness, craftsmanship, Switzerland - that's what the Swiss chocolate manufacturer Läderach - chocolatier suisse stands for. The family-owned company, founded in 1962 and employing around 1,500 people from more than 50 countries across the group, is headquartered in the canton of Glarus in Switzerland. Läderach oversees the entire production process from the cocoa bean to the store counter and produces exclusively in Switzerland. As one of only a few premium suppliers, the company thus guarantees sustainable quality from the cocoa bean to the end product. The handcrafted premium products are offered in over 100 of the company's own chocolateries with sales locations in 15 countries, as well as through franchise partners in the Middle East and Asia. Chocolate lovers can also conveniently order the specialties from Switzerland in the online store (www.laderach.com).
