- 25th chocolaterie in Germany opens in Hanover – the 100th chocolaterie in Europe
- Läderach already operates over 220 chocolateries worldwide
- Third production site in the canton of Glarus set to open soon
Bilten, August 22, 2025 – Läderach, manufacturer of premium chocolate from the canton of Glarus, is opening its 100th chocolaterie in Europe with a new store in Hanover. This is already the 25th chocolaterie for the German market. The Swiss company is continuing its upward trajectory and positioning itself for further growth with the opening of its third production site in the canton of Glarus.
Dynamic development in Europe
In Europe, Läderach operates its own stores in four countries – Austria, Germany, France, and the UK – in addition to its home market of Switzerland. Over the past three years, the network of stores has grown from 74 to 100 chocolateries. “We are delighted that our development in Europe remains so positive. In 2008, we laid the foundation for our internationalization with our first chocolaterie in Germany. Now, we have expanded our chocolateries across four continents,” says Nathanael Hausmann, Chief Sales Officer. “The development seen in recent years clearly
shows that customers in Germany appreciate our premium Swiss chocolate. We have opened almost 10 stores in the last three years alone,” adds Sebastian Dietrich, General Manager Germany.
Läderach already operates over 220 chocolaterie in 25 countries on four continents worldwide. Further openings are planned in new markets such as Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Indonesia in the coming months.
Third production site to go into operation
Läderach had already set the course for its anticipated international growth by planning a third production site back in 2022. The new site on Linth-Escher-Strasse is called “Bilten 2” and is gradually starting up its operations at present. Soon, all the FrischSchoggi creations for which Läderach is known worldwide will be made there. This sends a clear signal that Läderach will continue to produce exclusively in Switzerland in the future.
