The Swiss chocolatier Läderach became the target of a cyber attack on 5 September. Immediately after the attack was detected, the emergency board established for such cases was deployed to verify the incident as well as to decide on further measures to contain the problem. Production, logistics and administration were initially affected, but have almost fully resumed their work. All branches in Switzerland and abroad are still open as usual, and customers are not feeling any adverse effects. The full extent of the impact is still under investigation. The Emergency Board, together with external IT and forensic experts, is working at full speed to further analyse and eliminate the problems. We are in close coordination with the supervisory and investigative authorities.
We are herewith notifying individuals residing in Switzerland and in the EU and who have been previously employed by Läderach. In particular, personal data of employees may have been accessed without authorization, and Läderach is taking measures to avoid potential damages to our current and former employees.
