FrischSchoggi™ – a taste of Swiss Chocolate

FrischSchoggi Premium Swiss Chocolate Slabs

FrischSchoggi is the Swiss German expression for fresh chocolate, representing a harmonious union of fresh Läderach chocolate and meticulously sourced ingredients. Handcrafted in Switzerland since 1962, these signature chocolate slabs are broken by hand into unique, irregular pieces. This artisan process bypasses artificial preservatives, which is why your FrischSchoggi remains at its peak of freshness for 2 to 3 weeks. The exquisite taste and melting texture rely on premium ingredients, including pure Swiss Alpine milk, which infuses the milk chocolate with a distinctive creaminess.

To protect this freshness during transit, each order is packaged with care. The chocolate is first encased in a protective primary seal to guard against air and moisture. It is then placed inside insulated packaging with cooling gel packs when temperatures require, all secured within a robust outer carton. This ensures the hand-broken pieces reach your doorstep in pristine condition, ready for you to enjoy.

Welcome the cozy warmth of the fall season with Swiss chocolate

As the leaves turn golden and the crisp air of autumn arrives, there is no better way to welcome the fall season than with FrischSchoggi — a taste of Switzerland. Our freshly handmade chocolate slabs bring a touch of Swiss alpine magic directly to your home, making those chilly fall evenings feel much warmer and more inviting. This harvest season, we invite you to gather your loved ones around the fireplace to share these exquisite broken chocolate treats, crafted with the finest ingredients and authentic Swiss milk.

Whether you are treating yourself after a long walk through the autumn leaves or sharing a sweet moment with friends, our signature FrischSchoggi offers the ultimate comfort. Each bite captures the dedication of our master chocolatiers, who have been perfecting these recipes in Switzerland since 1962. Let the rich flavors of roasted nuts and creamy milk chocolate elevate your autumn season, creating delicious memories that will linger long after the last piece is gone. Experience the true essence of Swiss craftsmanship this fall with Läderach and discover why our fresh chocolate remains a beloved tradition worldwide.

The Art of Storing and Serving Your Chocolate

To preserve the velvety texture of your chocolate, keep it in a cool, dry, and dark environment, ideally between 60 and 64°F (15 to 18°C). A closed pantry or cupboard is the perfect sanctuary. Avoid refrigeration, as the cold environment introduces moisture that can cause sugar bloom and dull the delicate flavor. When you are ready to indulge, allow the chocolate to reach its ideal serving temperature of 18 to 20°C or 64 to 68°F. At this room temperature, the cocoa butter melts smoothly on the palate, releasing its full aromatic bouquet.

While FrischSchoggi is primarily crafted for direct enjoyment, it can also elevate your culinary creations. It is highly suitable for melting into velvety ganaches, rich mousses, or warm chocolate beverages. However, because of the delicate nature of the fresh ingredients and inclusions, we recommend using it for no-bake desserts or as an elegant finishing touch rather than exposing it to the intense heat of baking.

Sourcing and Sustainable Craftsmanship

The journey of FrischSchoggi begins with the sourcing of cocoa beans from selected regions in South America and West Africa, primarily Ecuador and Ghana. Through a dedicated bean-to-bar philosophy, we control every step of production. Our commitment to quality is deeply connected to sustainability through the Cocoa for Future program. This initiative focuses on the economic, social, and environmental well-being of our farming partners, ensuring transparent and traceable sourcing.

In Switzerland, our master chocolatiers melt the premium chocolate and blend it with carefully chosen ingredients. The mixture is spread onto cooling tables before being broken by hand. This hand-broken style distinguishes FrischSchoggi from other Läderach creations. While our pralines and truffles offer intricate, multi-layered fillings designed for a longer shelf life, FrischSchoggi focuses on a rustic, ingredient-forward experience that celebrates immediate freshness.

Pure Ingredients and Dietary Options

At the heart of every slab are high-quality foundation ingredients, including cocoa mass, cocoa butter, sugar, alpine milk powder, soy lecithin, and natural vanilla. To these bases, we add exceptional inclusions such as roasted Piedmont hazelnuts, dried raspberries, sweet caramel, crispy feuilletine, brittle, and honeycomb. We offer variations to accommodate different lifestyles, including dairy-free vegan alternatives crafted with cashew-based recipes, alongside gluten-free and nut-free selections. Please note that our products are made in a facility that handles various ingredients, so we advise those with severe allergies to consult our staff or read packaging details carefully.

FrischSchoggi is sold by weight rather than in predetermined sizes, reflecting its handcrafted nature. Standard portions start at 100 grams, and you can select larger quantities up to 1 kilogram. This customizability makes it ideal for sharing with friends and family or selecting as an elegant gift. For those who wish to receive these fresh creations regularly, subscriptions can be managed easily through your online customer account, where you can pause, skip, or adjust the frequency of your deliveries.

Exquisite Flavor Profiles and Pairings

From classic milk chocolate with whole roasted hazelnuts to darker varieties featuring intense cocoa nibs or orange-almond blends, there is a flavor to suit every preference. We also offer limited-edition and seasonal varieties, such as our popular banana split selection, to bring seasonal joy to your chocolate experience. To elevate these flavors, consider pairing your chocolate with beverages and foods that complement its profile. A rich dark chocolate pairs beautifully with robust espresso, aged cheeses, or fine spirits, while milk and white chocolate varieties harmonize with delicate black teas, fresh berries, or light dessert wines.

Whether you are buying FrischSchoggi for yourself or sending it as a gift to loved ones, online ordering makes the process seamless. For professional occasions, corporate gifting options allow you to share these fresh Swiss chocolate slabs as a gesture of appreciation for clients and partners.
