Bilten, 1 July 2026 – Swiss premium chocolate manufacturer Läderach is opening its first chocolaterie in Australia at Sydney Airport (Kingsford Smith Airport). With this launch, the company has expanded its international presence to a fifth continent and is now represent-ed in 30 countries worldwide. Further market launches are planned for the coming months, with chocolateries in Slovakia and Italy.
First chocolaterie on the Australian continent
With the new launch in Sydney, Läderach continues its international expansion and is entering the Australian market for the first time with its chocolaterie in the airport’s airside area.
“We are delighted to be able to bring our fresh chocolate to customers ‘Down Under’ for the first time while continuing to pursue the growth strategy we have followed in recent years,” says Nathanael Hausmann, Chief Sales Officer, adding: “Australia offers great potential, and we are already planning further locations for the coming years.”
International expansion on track
With the launch in Australia, Läderach now operates over 260 chocolateries worldwide. Despite a challenging geopolitical and economic environment, the company remains committed to its growth strategy. “The current financial year has been marked by various challenges, including logistical re-strictions in certain regions as well as volatile trading conditions,” says CEO Johannes Läderach. “Nevertheless, our business is developing according to plan and consistently driving our expansion forward.”
On average, Läderach opens about one new chocolaterie per week. By the end of 2026, the company is expected to exceed the mark of 300 locations worldwide. The “Bilten 2” production site, which was put into operation in August 2025, is an important piece of the puzzle as it provides the necessary capacity for international growth.
