Our alcohol-infused chocolate contains only the best ingredients

When our master chocolatiers use their imagination to create beautiful pieces of luxury alcohol-infused chocolate, they all have one thing in common: only the best ingredients are good enough. Our specialty is chocolate in all its forms, and we take great pride in sourcing our ingredients locally in Switzerland and from our trusted partners abroad.

We work directly with cocoa bean farmers in Trinidad, Ecuador, Brazil, Madagascar, and Ghana. This gives us unique knowledge about where and how the cocoa beans we use are grown and under what circumstances. This is your guarantee that the chocolate from Läderach is made by passionate people from beginning to end. This is, of course, no less true when it comes to our alcohol-infused chocolate.

Can you get drunk on alcohol-infused chocolates?

This is a valid question, and one we hear quite a bit in our stores. The answer is yes, you can get drunk on alcohol-infused chocolate, but to do so, you would have to eat a substantial amount of chocolate, somewhere around 2 kilograms. We're willing to bet that not many people can consume enough alcohol-infused chocolate to reach the equivalent of a standard shot. One standard shot of alcohol is about 30 milliliters, and in one alcohol-infused chocolate, there is about 8 milliliters of alcohol.

The main concern for asking this question is, of course, to know if it's safe for kids to eat alcohol-infused chocolate. It is perfectly safe for children to taste the alcohol-infused chocolate, but most kids don't appreciate the tangy taste of the alcohol. They usually prefer the sweeter versions of our delicious chocolates, so we suggest you reserve the alcohol-infused chocolate for the adults. That way, there's more for you, which is a good thing, believe us.
