    Bilten, September 13, 2022 –The Swiss chocolatier Läderach became the target of a cyber attack on 5 September. Immediately after the attack was detected, the emergency board established for such cases was deployed to verify the incident as well as to decide on further measures to contain the problem.     After the operational management of the company was passed on four years ago to the third generation, followed by the transfer of company shares two years later, the Swiss family company Läderach – Chocolatier Suisse completed its long-term generational transition in 2021.

    The owners elected Johannes Läderach as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Johannes Läderach belongs to the third generation and has sat on the Board of Directors of the company, which is 100% family-owned, since 2018. He will assume his new role on the board in addition to serving as CEO. Elias Läderach, a member of the company’s Executive Board and reigning World Chocolate Master, and David Läderach, who has managed the company’s operations in Germany since the beginning of the year, were also newly elected to the Board of Directors as representatives of the third generation.

    On Valentine’s Day, February 14th 2021 Läderach – chocolatier suisse signed an asset purchase agreement allowing Läderach to assume the leases for 34 GODIVA locations across the United States. As a result of this transfer, Läderach will take over the leases of all of these 34 GODIVA locations. Although the parties have agreed to not disclose any other conditions of the agreement, Läderach will announce the locations of the 34 stores to open by the end of summer 2021, if not sooner.     The third generation is taking over the operational reins at the Läderach family business in Glarus. Johannes Läderach (born 1986), will be appointed CEO of the Läderach Group on 1 March 2018.
